DALLAS, TEXAS (January 1, 2016) – AHTF Films LLC, Reda Jo Films and Poorchild Films have collaborated on the inspirational movie titled A Heart That Forgives. The star studded Red Carpet Event will take place February 2, 2016 at 6pm, Studio Movie Grill Plano, Texas. A Heart That Forgives, is a story about two foster brothers battling their spirituality and their love for each other. Adopted as young boys to a biracial couple in the city of Dallas, Texas Malcom and Silk were raised as Christians. Silk (Malik Whitfield) disassociates himself from the church and Malcolm chooses (portrayed by Mario Mims) to follow in his father footsteps. Malcolm finds out the test and trials of a righteous man can mislead you to a path of destruction. A Heart That Forgives also deals with grief, betrayal, redemption and God’s unconditional love.
Ken Jenkins, creator, writer and executive producer for A Heart That Forgives and founder of AHTF Films LLC , knows this story will change lives through the film’s compelling message. Jenkins decided to tell this amazing story after listening to the title track A Heart that Forgives produced by his dear friend Gospel Grammy nominated artist Kevin Levar. The Award winning film directing producing team M. Legend Brown and Kelly Gray assisted Jenkins in bringing his vision to life. “Ken trusted us to tell the story, gave us the resources and six months later we are screening the fillm’, said Gray.
The story is the main element but the cast that drives the story is phenomenal. Malcolm’s right hand man Levar, portrayed by veteran actor Carl Payne delivers a stellar performance as he tries to stay balanced as a believer in today’s church. Irma P. Hall makes a cameo appearance as Ms. Gussie and Pilar Sanders as Shelia meets Mannie (Kelly O’Neil Jackson) a widower trying to put his life back together after losing his wife.
The film will also be packed with talented local actors who can handle a hectic nine day shoot and working with Hollywood talent. “We like to bring a few of Hollywood’s finest to give our local talent that may not get the chance to work with named talent.” Brown and Gray have a long history of filmmaking in the Dallas Fort Worth area and they are both looking for a broadcast license deal with this film.
