Julius Curry Acquires Ownership of No. 33 Truck in NASCAR Camping World Truck Series

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Julius Curry, owner of Julius Curry Racing, acquired ownership of the No. 33 truck in the NASCR Camping World Truck series. The No. 33 truck is driven by Josh Reaume. The pair raced their first race as an owner-driver tandem at the Kansas Speedway at the KC Masterpiece 400 on May 11.

"I'm very excited to retain ownership of the No. 33 truck," said Curry. "I'm very passionate about bringing NASCAR and the motorsports to new audiences. I believe that motorsports are ripe for growth and by diversifying the face of ownership, we'll be able to begin to cultivate a new generation of owners and drivers. My goal is to make motorsports accessible and a viable option to everyone across generations, creeds, gender and ethnicities."

Curry, who gained full ownership of the truck on prior to the Masterpiece 400, was previously in a long-term partnership with Reaume and his ownership team of Reaume Bros Racing. The partners have raced in four races this season and will run the entire Camping World Truck Series schedule this season.

"This is a very exciting time of growth for our team," said Reaume. "I'm thrilled to have Julius come on board as the owner of the No. 33 truck and I'm looking forward to working alongside one another this season. With a background in sports marketing and decades working in various forms of professional sports, Julius will be a valuable asset to the team. The partnership between Reaume Brothers Racing and JC Racing will act as a catalyst for our organization and will enhance our platform in many ways. Both Julius and I are extremely thankful to all our existing marketing partners and we can't wait to see what the future holds."

A former NFL and collegiate football player at the University of Michigan, Curry, is no stranger to NASCAR. In 2006, he formed Curry Racing Inc., to compete in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and became the first African-American team in the Craftsman Truck series to have sole minority ownership.

Curry's interest in motorsports lies not only in the sport itself but in introducing the sport to new and diverse audiences including exposing youth traditionally not steered towards motorsports to NASCAR and all it has to offer.
