Did you miss this event April 1st? If you did, pleaseeeee make sure you attend Fashions for the Cure’s next event.

Supporting cancer survivors, those currently battling the disease, as well as honoring the victims through a gathering that meshed friends, fun, and fashion is exactly what Marsha Johnson, owner of Fashions for the Cure, had in the plans.

There were many cancer patients and survivors that attended, with their guests, for the Fashions for the Cure: 4th Annual Survivors Brunch.  The event was very nurturing and was open to everyone, those who were affected by the disease and those who were just there to learn.

The event consisted of great vendors, a fabulous live band, testimonials that were life changing, informative speeches of how to potentially steer clear of the disease, a brunch that was amazing, a fashion show to show off the latest hat trends, some pretty awesome door prizes, and brief introductions from those who have different types of supportive groups around DFW.

The event highlighted the importance of cancer education, and stressed the importance of taking early detection measures, eating a healthy diet and exercising, all of which help increase the chances of surviving the disease.

The brunch started with a nice healthy meal, consisting of fruits, whole grains, and a nice array of greens. Guests were able to enjoy conversations over their meal with homemade teas, flavored water, and mimosas. After the meal, models took to the runway, featuring many different hat styles for men and women.

It was a nice way to celebrate the life of cancer patients and survivors, and to hear the joy of those who have overcome their life changing moments. If you are interested in their next event, keep an eye on their Facebook page: Fashions for the Cure Nonprofit Organization where you can meet others who have survived and it is a place for you to join if you are looking for a survivor support group.
